Niel’s relationship with Powerplay began when his son Arjun joined the academy at the age of 5. Since then, Head Coach Tim has worked closely with Arjun, guiding him on his cricketing journey and forming a strong friendship with the Paryani family along the way.

Inspired by his son’s progress and the energy of the academy, Niel also found himself rekindling his own love for cricket. Having not played since school, he attended the now-infamous “Dads in Pads” session, rediscovered his passion for the game, and has since started training regularly with Tim – even returning to the field to play matches again.
“It’s a real privilege to support such a thriving, professional academy,” says Niel. “Watching Arjun grow both as a cricketer and a young person has been incredibly rewarding. To now be part of that journey myself, and to support other young players through Oatlands, means a great deal to our family and our business.”
